Federal disaster aid good news, but housing challenges remain for north Minneapolis

With so many vacant and foreclosed homes already in the area, city officials and housing advocates want to make sure properties damaged in the┬áMay 22, 2011 north Minneapolis tornado, which tore through the area , killing two people, injuring dozens and leaving behind at least $166 million in damages, don’t end up among the abandoned.
